- Live in Alabama - what little public transportation is available is not known for being reliable. And it doesn't reach out in the suburbs.

- I wanted my daughter to eat more fruits and dairy. Instead of saying, "You need to eat more fruits and dairy," I thought about the things she likes and how I could work fruit and/or dairy into them. She loves shakes and smoothies, so now I make fruit smoothies for her several afternoons a week.

- It is 9 miles one way to the closest elementary school. There is no public transportation. My daughter catches the bus at 6:52a.m. (can you imagine what that is going to be like in December when it is barely light outside?). Elementary chool start time was moved back fifteen minutes to 7:45a.m.

- I agree that every adult *should* take a few moments to decide what kind of care would be prefered should an end-of-life issue. But in reality, we all know that people do things they shouldn't and don't do things they should.

- These stupid fees are why we chose to DRIVE to our port of call this year (about five hours one way). Sure we'll have to pay for gas, but with four people traveling it is SO MUCH CHEAPER than flying - even after paying a parking fee.
